With Addressing the Future, Yannick Lowery’s reimagined post office enunciates the contemporary idea of the post office as a transitional space between Now and Then. Lowery has previously described the world-building approach of his paper collages as literal blueprints foretelling larger works.

Textures of Feminist Perseverance | Cuchifritos Gallery | thru 6.7
Group exhibition that asks how women's daily experiences and contributions are recorded in physical, virtual, and social public spheres. Centering the work of 17 female-identifying artists, this project supports artists who are imagining ways for women to take up the space they are already producing. Curated by Dina Weiss and Katherine Carl, Ph.D.

Joan Jonas and Jason Moran | MoMA | 3.27
In conjunction with the exhibition Joan Jonas: Good Night Good Morning, Jonas and Moran present A Lecture Demonstration, a dialogue in which they describe their process and perform excerpts of their works together over the last two decades. A Lecture Demonstration is an unscripted conversation, with Moran at the piano and Jonas on stage, performing with projected images from Jonas’s archive, props from her studio, and original audio recordings.
Ambrose Akinmusire: banyan seed | Harlem Stage | 3.29-3.30
Harlem Stage presents composer, trumpeter, and bandleader, Ambrose Akinmusire, in banyan seed, a multi-part suite that incorporates interviews with jazz elders who share their ideas, knowledge, history, and community with younger musicians, and connects audiences to the living stories of jazz.
He’s joined on stage by Cosmo Lieberman (alto saxophone), Emmanuel Michael (guitar), Estaban Castro (piano), Jeremiah Edwards (bass), and Timothy Angulo (drums).

Awarded annually, the Scholarship provides recipients with a monetary award of $3,000, exhibition of their work at the Griffin Museum of Photography, and a volume from John’s personal library of photography books.

Summer Residency: artists are invited to submit a proposal for community art project that will engage visitors of all ages. Artists will be expected to actively engage the public in an exciting and compelling project. Preference will be given to projects that use recycled or repurposed materials, natural materials, and/or clay. Artist is expected to work at least 28 hours a week directly with visitors. This residency typically runs June-August. Residency length: 2 to 3 months; flexible based on the artist's needs.
